The construction industry is one of the oldest in the United States and can chart its history to the creation of the earliest skyscrapers and railroads. Despite this history, it is constantly evolving. Every year there are new developments and technologies with new acronyms; in recent years we have seen CAD, BIM and P3, to name a few.
Simon Hughes is Lead of Infrastructure Standards for Network Rail Consulting. Simon is an experienced railway engineer with over 17 years of experience in engineering design and management for classic and high speed rail. He is a Chartered Engineer and a Member of the Railway Civil Engineers Association, and has represented Network Rail on the high speed committee of the International Union of Railways.
