Managing Women in Construction: Costless Productivity Enhancers for Male Owners and Managers

There is a large untapped source of skilled labor for the construction industry that would improve safety and process compliance, improve problem-solving and make the workforce more inclusive.

That source is women, but the women currently in construction don’t always feel included. “Managing Women in Construction,” a white paper published in the Construction Contractors’ Digest November 2015 by the Stevens Construction Institute, outlines what men who manage women need to know and do and what women should do for more acceptance on the jobsite. Making small, and no-cost, changes to workplace practices can enhance productivity and increase an employee’s potential, whether female or male.
